Educational Partners Site Visits Information and Guidelines
The Disney College Program encourages our Educational Partners to visit their students during their Disney College Program experience. The following information summarizes the assistance we can provide you during your visit, including instructions and guidelines. We hope that you will be able to visit the Disney College Program and see first-hand the unparalleled experience we offer to your students.
What is the purpose of a site visit?
Why should I take
time off to visit my students?
Site visits are valuable for every
Educational Partner, from Career Services advisors, to faculty, to college and
university chancellors and presidents. The primary purpose of a site visit is
to enhance your understanding of the Disney College Program. You may choose to
visit students in their work location, classes or living environment. You may
want to meet with Disney College Program team members to discuss your
suggestions for the program. You may elect to spend your time acquiring more
in-depth knowledge of each of the Disney College Program components and the
Walt Disney World® Resort. While you may choose to incorporate a
site visit into a family vacation, and we encourage you to do so, we hope that
you will spend as much time as possible learning about our program first hand.
I'm thinking of traveling to Florida for a site visit.
How will you assist me?
Our team is happy to provide you and your
colleagues with a number of arrangements to make your site visit as meaningful
and beneficial as possible. Below are the components of our structured
familiarization program.
- Complimentary theme park passes for you and any
professional colleagues to see students from your college or university in
their work location.
We are happy to provide you with tickets into our four theme parks in order for you to visit students in their work locations. Tickets are provided for the express purpose of visiting students or areas where students will be working on their Disney College Program.
- Assistance with resort accommodations on Walt Disney
World property.
Our team will research discounted hotel rooms for the length of your stay. Discounted rooms are available at certain times of the year for our Educational Partners, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests. You are welcome to stay with your family or friends in these rooms if they are accompanying you on your visit, but please be reminded that these rooms are for our partners participating in a site-visit experience. We are sorry, but we are unable to make discounted reservations for the express purpose of family vacations.
- Coordinate meetings with Disney College Program team
members.
We can set up meetings with members of the Disney College Program Education Team, College & International Program Housing Team, College Recruiting Team and College Marketing Team. The content of these meetings is at your discretion, but can include anything from an in-depth discussion of the elements of the program to a first-time overview of the program for new Educational Partners.
- Reserve space for meetings with your Disney College
Program students.
We know that it is sometimes easier to gather your current College Program students in one central location than to track them down in their work location. For this reason, we are happy to reserve a central space so that you may meet with your students. Also, we can assist you by providing a list of students' phone numbers and work locations for ease in contacting them to set up such meetings.
- Book an observation day in one of our seven educational
courses.
Our College Education Programs team, as well as the collective Disney College Program team, is proud to offer you the opportunity to observe one of our seven educational courses in action. Our instructors are always excited to have experts, such as yourself, observe their classes. We encourage your participation in a full or half-day experience.
- Set up Walt Disney World tours for new
Educational Partners.
The Walt Disney World Resort is a large place! Depending on availability, we are able to assist our new Educational Partners and their professional colleagues with tours of our property. Tours focus on those areas in which Disney College Program participants work, take courses and live. We know that gaining an understanding of the program is an important step toward understanding the value of the Disney College Program experience for your students.
Please note that we are unable to provide transportation to and around the Walt Disney World Resort during your site visit, and we encourage you to have your own transportation available. Please let us know if you have specific travel questions when arranging your site visit.
What steps should I take to arrange my visit?
We are excited that you will be joining us for a site visit! We ask that you please take a moment to send an e-mail to us at wdw.college.program@disney.com or call us at 1-800-722-2930, and we will be sure to send the site visit form to you immediately by e-mail or fax. You may choose to complete and submit the Site Visit Form found on this Web site to expedite your requests. When possible, we ask that you give our office 2-3 weeks notice of your site visit. This gives us ample time to research accommodations and arrange meetings. A confirmation of all accommodations will be sent via e-mail or fax to you prior to your arrival, including, if applicable, instructions on how to pick up your complimentary tickets, where to send your check for resort accommodations and directions to Disney College Program locations. We request that any resort accommodations made through our office be paid in full prior to your arrival.
