Summer Program

The Summer Work Experience gives international students the opportunity to spend their summer break experiencing the Disney magic by sharing and interacting with Guests, learning important business philosophies, and making friends with people from all over the world.

While participating in this program, participants work in such roles as operations, merchandise, quick service food and beverage, life guards, and entertainment*. In addition to the valuable skills gained through the day-to-day responsibilities of their job, participants will have the opportunity to learn skills from Disney leaders, participate in special Cast Member learning activities and networking events, take advantage of our Disney Learning Centers, and gain work experience with one of the most admired companies in the world to their CV.

Participants in this program will work at the Walt Disney World® Resort on a J-1 training visa during their summer break from school. The J-1 Summer/Work Experience is, at maximum, a 90-day program.

To qualify for the Walt Disney World® International College Program, participants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a student enrolled in an accredited, degree-issuing college or university; and returning to school for at least one term following the program
  • Have good conversational English
  • Have an outgoing personality
  • Be willing to share a bedroom
